House Revenue - 01.31.2023

Oregon considers proposals to grant standing to trade associations and hear local tax appeals in the state's tax court.

Hearing Summary

On Tuesday, the House Revenue Committee held a hearing on two proposed changes to the Oregon Tax Court. These changes would allow trade and practitioner organizations to petition the court for declaratory relief and direct all local income taxes to the Oregon Tax Court. While these issues may seem mundane, they are significant in addressing how tax administrators and payers settle disputes.

For the sake of transparency, I want to acknowledge that I am the lead proponent behind these measures. If anyone has questions or would like additional information, please contact me via email.
